Houston Texans QB, Deshaun Watson, has been in the news recently along with numerous allegations of sexual misconduct from at least 22 women who all filed lawsuits using various aliases. Watson’s very first accuser, former know as Jane Doe #1, Ashley Solis came forward on April 6th, 2021 to talk about her dramatic experience.
Ashley Solis made her claim of Watson’s inappropriate actions during a massage therapy session at her home in March 2020. When Solis first filed her lawsuit, she used an alias to keep from experiencing public backlash but later realized that her story needed recognition.
Solis came forward in a Texas news conference and announced her reason “to take back control” of her life despite what has happened to her.
“I’m a survivor of assault and harassment. Deshaun Watson is my assaulter and my harasser” were the strong words Solis used when she expressed herself during the news conference.
“I replay the incident over and over in my head as if I’m trying to wake up from some horrible nightmare — only that nightmare is real.”
Solis and with twenty-one other women have already filed lawsuits against Watson, but the NFL star has denied all allegations and rejected settlement demands and has even issued statements from eighteen female massage therapists. The eighteen statements say Watson is “a respectful client who never put them in an uncomfortable situation”, according to TMZ.
As for Solis, she mentions in the news conference that there are long-lasting effects of her encounter with Watson including “the shakes”, hindering her from completing her job as well as emotional pain.
As of now, no charges gave been filed but there is an open investigation surrounding Watson and these lawsuits, but Ashley Solis “will not let him win.” She believes “[Watson] needs to be held accountable for his actions.
