GET A TASTE OF THE CAROLINA BBQ MUSIC FESTIVAL

IIGHT SO BOOM,

The 336 is a city known for its lively college scene and arts culture. People stay buzzing about the city of Greensboro and what they have to offer. Any event that's poppin' happens in this area. Greensboro, North Carolina. Greensboro is a diverse city home to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, AKA "NCAT," or "A&T," where many people molded their creative journies and now have success stories in their careers.

Last month, the 336 put on a festival that opened many doors for upcoming musicians across the state of North Carolina. The Carolina BBQ Festival was a day full of culture, music, and food. With over fifty live acts from Greensboro, Fayetteville, Rocky Mount, and many other cities within this great state. Co-founders of the festival, Torey "Viva" Evans, and his right-hand man, Damion Lewis (Wordplaydame), heeded an opportunity to connect with North Carolina's homegrown talent. According to yesweekly.com, Evans looked back on the festival as an investment into what NC's music scene has to offer.

"...We wanted to create something that the Carolinas could call it's own"

Evans and Lewis definitely did a hell of a job with the success of this music festival. The location couldn't have been better, fasho! The festival kicked off at the Silo Entertainment Center, featuring several Black-owned brands and vendors with products ranging from homecooked food to live hair braiding to clothing all in one place!

"We're the curators, the founders, and the culture-pushers"

Across two stages, indoor and outdoor, the Carolina BBQ Festival featured performances from Vicky Vida, JxHines, Cheeno Ghee, Janiah Tashae, Kimar Flows, AZUS Records, Xbrodie, and Ty Harriz, just to name a few! July 10th was a big step for North Carolina's local music culture, and the founders of this festival knew precisely how to make every person feel like family.

"Everyone deserves to be heard...Pushing the culture forward for the home state is getting our voices heard across the world."

The Carolina BBQ Festival was a significant success, and next year the festival staff plans to bring back this annual event in Charlotte, NC, AKA The 704!
