Kirshnik Khari Ball, 28, better known as Takeoff from the rap group Migos, was pronounced deceased early Tuesday morning outside of a Houston, Texas, bowling alley after a heated argument, AP reports.
Police responded to a call about a shooting around 2:34 am, and, upon arrival, "one victim was found deceased,' according to a tweet from the Houston Police Department.
Houston Police confirmed the victim as Takeoff this afternoon during a live stream with officers and investigators from the city. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner called for more security and unity within the city of Houston and Hip Hop after the tragic loss.
"I'm calling up on everybody, Hip Hop artists in Houston and around the nation, we gotta police ourselves," Chief Finner said during the live stream.
Chief Finner says at least forty people were present during the shooting.
The department is now searching for the shooter and has gone to twitter to ask for the help of those in attendance of this morning's incident.

The record label for Takeoff, Quality Control Music, put out a statement after Tuesday's incident.
"It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff,"
The statement then called attention to the reckless behavior and it's consequences.
"Senseless violence and a stray bullet has taken another life from this world and we are devastated.
Please respect his family and friends as we all continue to process this monumental loss."
The search for Takeoff's shooter is still underway.
