The BTTV Music Review Is In...

Von Lately serenades his way into the R&B lane with "Ima Be L8," the latest EP from the southside Chicago singer. This EP showcases the working range of Von Lately and what he is capable of doing. The EP has a very soulful vibe, catering to the feminine ear through the project. The productions accentuate Von Lately's voice very well throughout the six-song EP.

Tracks like "I Know" and "Ima Be Late (Interlude)" are very passionate and reminiscent of The Dream, giving off a slower and more melodic presence. Lately's choice of lyrics is smart and repetitive on his track. Listeners can follow along easily without concentrating solely on the beat or productions. The background vocals a depth to the sensual atmosphere Lately sets for the female listeners. On his track, "Worthy," Lately is making an anthem for women, hoping they understand that only a tiny amount of men are worthy of their attention. Overall, the songs on the EP seem to tell a story of Lately getting the girl of his dreams though he'll be late to their next meeting. Lately's emphasis on this side of R&B music is refreshing and opens doors for upcoming singers needing a path.
